Dear readers, I’m still immersed in midsummer distractions (not all fun, but some including frolick). But I wanted to let you know about my first Slate piece in awhile, a review-essay today about Post Malone’s much ballyhooed gone-country album, F-1 Trillion. It seems to me to epitomize some deep tendencies of the 2020s streaming era; Posty is of course one of the prime savants of the algorithm, along with begin every other music star’s seeming favourite hang.
The Slate link is here… and if you run into the paywall, join Slate Plus, but if you can’t, there’s an alternative here.
Hope you enjoy, and promise to be back with some fresh exclusive Crritic! content concoctions later in the week. xoxo
